What can never go in: asbestos roofing, hazardous waste, paint, solvents, and propane tanks. Asbestos shows up in plenty of pre-1980s shingles and tiles — if your house is that vintage and you're not sure, get the material tested before tear-off, because asbestos removal requires a licensed abatement contractor, not a dumpster.
